| facts 1 ) Ash installed a pre-production electric water pump on his car the day we left Florida. He had some machining gremlins with the part. He originally did not plan to track and auto x the car. 2 ) The electric water pump developed a small leak more noticeable at startup. Ash wanted to stress test the electric water pump and figured that this would be a good way of "putting it through some heat cycles" 3 ) ASH noticed the engine temp running slightly higher than normal. Nothing to the point where "u must pull over and check" immediately while driving. I don't know / remember the exact temperature ..but he has the readings in his car .. Several times from Florida to Texas he added coolant while we were getting gas / food / etc. 4 ) WHen in Texas, Ash decided to run his car on the track day and auto x because the car was running pretty good and Maglito offerred his spot since he was not able to use it due to his own reasons. 5 ) Ash decided to run the higher rated fan to ensure proper cooling while he troubleshooted the solution to the electric water pump. This was like on Tuesday ..the day before the track day. 6 ) The car ran fine with the fan and water pump on the track day and the auto x event and evidently on the drive back to Florida from Texas. 7 ) The above is what I know to be true. If it is anything more than that, as I said earlier -- it is beyond my knowledge -- I can not speak to the electric fan issue --but I can speak to the reasons why Ash's car may have been running warmer than normal at ZCON ( thank you Spee - I finally got it ). Was it alarmingly higher - like red zone or near red zone -- not that I saw on the gauge .. but I wasn't in the car every minute .. only on the drive from Florida to Houston
